Chris Sutton superbly slaps down daft comments about Celtic players’ diving with class Rangers put-down

Rangers fans have always had a strange narrative about Celtic player’s diving as the Parkhead club’s domination of Scottish football continues.

It’s a strange stance considering Rangers’ recent domestic penalty record over the last few seasons but the Celtic pain is real in one Ibrox supporter.

Celtic hero Kyogo Furuhashi was regularly accused of simulation despite being the victim of some of Scottish football’s dark arts.

And now that the new season has kicked off, Chris Sutton has had to slap down a Rangers fan who called his show complaining about Celtic players not being pulled up for ‘simulation’.

Chris Sutton shoots down Rangers fans’ weird Celtic diving complaint

Sutton was taking in his first phone-in of the season when a strange phone-call about Celtic players’ diving made the Hoops hero put the boot into the Ibrox club with a class put-down.

A Rangers fan called BBC 606 Football Phone-In and said [1h 11m], “You know, I’m surprised, Chris.

“I’m waiting on a Celtic player being in that Simulation Game because every time I watch them, I don’t know what you see, but there’s a few dubious decisions in there.

Sutton: “Paul, in fairness, off the top of my head, we have had a couple of Celtic players in there. We have called a few out in the Simulation Game.

“Reo Hatate. I think he’s [Kyogo] been on before. We haven’t had many Rangers players last season because you didn’t get the opposition box.”

I suppose when all Rangers fans have done is sit and watch Celtic lift trophy after trophy, they need to find some excuse to try and explain away the Parkhead club’s success.

Celtic hero Sutton’s best Rangers put-downs this season

It’s not the first time Sutton has pointed the finger of fun at Rangers this season. The new domestic campaign is only four games old and the Celtic hero has already jabbed at his old foes.

Rangers’ draw against Dundee inspired Sutton to poke at the Ibrox club calling the stalemate a ‘good point’ for the Govan club.

The Celtic hero laughed at Kris Boyd after the Sky Sports pundit said he thinks Rangers will win the league this season.

There will undoubtedly be more fun poked at Rangers as their domestic campaign continues to stutter as Celtic look to go better than their league and cup double win from last season with a treble.
