Celtic’s January transfer business is really beginning to ramp up now.

Jota became Celtic’s first addition of the window with Hoops icon Kyogo Furuhashi going to Rennes on the same day.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers now has less than four days to make more additions to the Bhoys with the January window closing on the 3rd of February.

However, Chris Sutton has offered a surprising name from Manchester United that he would like to see join Jota in the Celtic first-team on loan this winter.

Chris Sutton tells Marcus Rashford to leave Man United and join Celtic on loan

Sutton was pouring over Celtic’s latest transfer business when BBC’s Mark Chapman asked him if he would take Rashford to Parkhead on loan.

Chapman said on the Monday Night Club [1h 49m 35s], “Finally, this all links together quite nicely, bearing in mind the earlier YouTube poll, would you take Marcus Rashford on loan?”

Sutton replied, “Yeah, if he can be if he can be bothered to train. Yeah, it would be a good move for him, an upgrade.”

Spotrac has Rashford’s salary at £300,000 per week. That would immediately make this move a non-started unless Man United picked up 99% of his wages to facilitate getting him out the door.

But with questions over Rashford’s attitude doing the rounds, would Brendan Rodgers want that kind of disruptive attitude at Celtic?

Ally McCoist & Jeff Stelling’s comments on Marcus Rashford would make a Celtic move unwise

Speaking about Rashford on talkSPORT, Ally McCoist and Jeff Stelling raised questions about the Man United man’s attitude and where his next destination could be.

McCoist said, “You’re not gonna pat him on the back and say, ‘Oh, you’ve been great. Let’s get you another club’ if he’s not been putting the work in.

“I don’t know what his workload is, but seemingly the manager’s not happy and the previous manager had one or two problems with him turning up late and all that kind of stuff.

“So, yes, they’re duty-bound to look after him, but in doing that, they’re looking after themselves.”

Stelling mooted possible destinations for Rashford but Celtic never came up in the conversation, “I think there are clubs in England. I mean, I’m sure Tottenham fans would think at this stage we’d love to have Marcus Rashford but it’s not going to happen.

“Because all the stories are that Tottenham don’t pay the wages that other rival clubs do. So I think for his own good, he needs to go abroad. Needs to go abroad just a little bit out of the glare of that spotlight that he’s constantly under.

“It must be hard living like that. But, you know, I just think he needs just, just to step away from that spotlight a bit.”
