Celtic’s Annual General Meeting takes place today, on Friday November 21st.

Given the backdrop, this is one of the most anticipated Celtic AGMs in years. Brendan Rodgers, Martin O’Neill and Wilfried Nancy are all likely to be discussed as topics, and that’s just scratching the surface.

The Celtic Fans Collective has released an array of statements this week, focusing on different members of the Parkhead board and attempting to put their positions under pressure.

Michael Nicholson, Chris McKay and others will stand for re-election in their positions – in previous years, they have remained in post with overwhelming majorities.

Could we see a change in momentum this year? How will they respond to unhappy supporters? All will be revealed on 67 Hail Hail, and Chris Sutton thinks that things could turn ugly.

As we know, the Fans Collective has already had dialogue with Nicholson and the board, but went just as badly as you would expect.

The meetings didn’t change the Collective’s stance that there is need for fundamental change at Celtic Park.

In his column for the Daily Record, Sutton made it absolutely clear what he wants from the Parkhead board.

He said: “Going in managerless and at odds with a section of the support, there’s certainly a strong possibility of things turning ugly.

“I don’t think the board are going anywhere any time soon but if they double down on some of the recent statements from the club, it will go down like a lead balloon.

“There has to be a number of issues addressed and questions answered.

“An acknowledgement of where they have gone wrong this year would be a start as well. Just a bit of contrition, rather than the previously patronising tones that have come across, basically telling supporters everything is hunky-dory and they know best.

“There was some slight hint of taking responsibility when the financial figures came out with Lawwell and Nicholson both admitting mistakes had been made in the transfer market.

“Then you look at the Desmond release where it was pretty much all laid at the door of Brendan Rodgers.

“These are all things that need to be tackled.

“Why did Rodgers resign? We’ve heard why he could have been sacked but not why he seemingly decided to go.”

What will be discussed at Celtic’s AGM?

The manager situation, both between Rodgers’ departure and Nancy’s supposed arrival, is bound to be addressed.

But recent concerns about the club’s dispute with the Green Brigade will likely be brought up too. There are intense disagreements between the pair.

Then, of course, there’s the transfer window. Head of Scouting Jay Lefevre left Celtic last week, and an honest reflection on recruitment would go down well.

There’s additionally the Fairhurst report, the Celtic Fan Survey, club food and merchandise, and various other topics to cover.
