What a season it has been for Celtic, the fans, Brendan Rodgers and the players.

From having a commanding lead in the title race at the beginning of the season to trailing Rangers in April, the Celtic supporters have been through the mill.

But as the pressure of the title race ramped up over the past couple of months, Rodgers and the Celtic team called on all their experience and turned up when it really mattered.

And after sealing the title with an emphatic 5-0 win over Kilmarnock last night, Chris Sutton took to X to praise the champions and in true Sutton style, left room for a sly dig at our rivals.

Sutton praises ‘classy’ Celtic ‘serial winners’

The former Celtic hero took to social media last night as he praised the contribution of Joe Hart, Matt O’Riley, Callum McGregor and James Forrest and we all know what he meant with the final part of his tweet:

Over the years, Celtic have always done their talking on the pitch. When our rivals are making sweeping statements in the media, the Bhoys hold their counsel and as Sutton said, produce on the pitch.

And the four names Sutton mentions have been absolute stalwarts this season. O’Riley, McGregor and Hart have been ever-presents this season.

Between them they have missed just games, Joe Hart sat out the 2-1 Motherwell win as he served a one-game ban after being sent off against Livingston.

McGregor missed just three games due to an injury towards the end of the season and O’Riley was rested for one game against Ross County back in November. [Transfermarkt]

All three have been the first names on Brendan Rodgers’ teamsheet. As for James Forrest, the Celtic winger really stepped up to the plate and produced massive performances against Dundee, Hearts and Rangers to get this title over the line.
