Christopher Jullien is set to be included in this weekend’s Celtic squad to face Raith Rovers, Ange Postecoglou has told reporters at today’s press conference.

Go Radio journalist Jo Hendry reported the news on Twitter this afternoon from the media event.

Jullien has been missing from recent match squads having formerly returned to the bench for fixtures against Alloa Athletic, Hearts and Dundee United.

Now it seems he could make a massive return against the Fife side, almost 14 months after his devastating injury off the woodwork in a behind-closed-doors fixture.

Jullien still has a long way to go to be considered a first-team regular at Celtic. Carl Starfelt and Cameron Carter-Vickers have built up a formidable partnership this season, with the best defensive record in the country.

Nonetheless, plenty of supporters have been holding a candle for the Frenchman, feeling his physical build and defensive style can really add something to the Celtic backline.

Given he’s yet to even make an appearance since his injury, it all feels a bit experimental at the moment.

However, this match against Raith Rovers at home does represent the chance of a fresh start. It’s a match Celtic aren’t expected to be under a lot of pressure in. We should dominate possession in front of a home crowd and get the victory – it’s the perfect environment for Jullien.

Hopefully, he’s ready to take an emotional step back onto the pitch.
