Christopher Jullien will be hoping to overcome some bad memories when he travels back to his homeland to face Rennes next week.
The Celtic defender is likely to be part of the Celtic defence tasked with keeping out some of France’s hottest young talent. Jullien, himself, is a renowned player in the country after three pretty good years with Toulouse.
However it wasn’t all plain sailing for the big 6ft 5in central-defender. He did suffer a couple of setbacks during his time with The Violets, and of them came against Celtic’s Group E opponents.

Jullien has only been red carded twice in his career but one of them came at Roazhon Park. The £7million man was given his marching orders for two yellow cards in a Toulouse defeat back in 2016. Rather worryingly, the second yellow came for a kick out at a Rennes forward after an ill timed challenge.
Jullien has calmed down since Rennes dismissal
Thankfully, the 26-year-old seems much more in control of his emotions now. His discipline was evident in the recent win over Rangers when Alfredo Morelos continually tried to wind him up to no avail.
It will be interesting to see how Jullien gets on in his return to his homeland. He, Odsonne Edouard and Oliver Ntcham will all be keen to put on a show in their own country, and force the national press to take note of their talents.

Jullien will be tasked with leading the defence once again like he did at Ibrox. The whole Celtic backline set the standard with the terrific Ibrox shutout and now Neil Lennon will expect to see the same for the rest of the season.
Jullien is growing into the Celtic shirt more with every passing game. The pleasing thing is that there’s far more to come from him.
