Claudio Braga has already been labelled a player who could be a star at Celtic, yet the conversation around him is not about ability, it is about whether a deal is even possible.
There is no debate over whether Braga fits the level required at Celtic. The discussion has already moved beyond that point.
Instead, the focus has shifted towards the reality of trying to sign the Hearts star and that is where the situation becomes far more complicated.

Celtic told Claudio Braga would be ‘a star’ at Parkhead
Former Celtic striker Tony Watt and pundit Gordon Dalziel were discussing Braga’s potential for a big transfer move.
The strongest part of this conversation is how little doubt exists over Braga’s ability to step into Celtic. That question has effectively been answered by both.
Gordon Dalziel stated clearly that Braga “could play at Celtic, no problem” and followed that up by saying, “I think he’d be a star at Celtic.”
That is a definitive endorsement. It is a direct claim that Braga would not only cope with the step up to Celtic, but he would excel at Parkhead.
Tony Watt immediately backed that view, responding, “Yeah, agreed.” At that point, the conversation is no longer about potential. It becomes about Celtic’s opportunity to get a deal done with Hearts.
Celtic face a Hearts problem that goes beyond Claudio Braga
The conversation then goes on to speak about how Celtic could get Braga from Hearts and Watt’s view is blunt and straight to the point.
The former Celtic striker said, “I think they will [sell him], but I think it will be more foreign teams or English Championship teams.
“I think in Scotland, you probably need to go down there and earn your stripes in the Championship if you’re coming from a lot of teams.
“Well, don’t get me wrong, if Heart’s won the league, then maybe [he could get Premier League move].
“But I think Tony Bloom is too well versed to be selling him to Celtic and Rangers. I don’t see a world where two, three million pounds gets Hearts’ best player.”
The issue is not whether Celtic should sign Braga, it is whether they realistically can. Watt is pointing directly at a recruitment model that does not allow key assets to leave cheaply.
And would Hearts even sell their best player to teams they would now class as title rivals?
The result is a familiar barrier. Celtic can hear confirmation that Braga would thrive, but would still find the deal blocked by price.
