Celtic’s form is improving at a critical stage of the season and it has been recognised by Hibs boss David Gray after he watched the 3-1 win over Falkirk.

Celtic’s performances have been questioned, but noise around Celtic’s performances has not changed what is being produced on the pitch.

And it seems that Hibs boss Gray was in no doubt of the size of the task ahead for Sunday’s clash at Easter Road when Martin O’Neill’s side visits after he watched Celtic beat Falkirk at Parkhead on Saturday.

Celtic’s attacking threat is being recognised across the league

That first-hand view led to a clear and unambiguous verdict on the level Celtic are showing ahead of the Hibs game on Saturday.

Gray said, “Celtic are going for the league and we’re going for fourth place. So they’re going to be trying to back up their performance from the weekend.

“I went to their game on Saturday and, for larger periods, they were very good in the game and very dangerous. Like you said, you’re not involved in the title race if you’re not a dangerous team. They’ve still got that level of talent. And they’re going to have threats.

“The biggest thing for us, as I said, in the last two weeks, I feel we’ve beaten ourselves. We need to make sure we go into the game again ready for a tough test, but one that, if we keep 11 on the pitch and we do everything we can to get that performance level, we’re capable of getting a result.

“And that’s what the players have to believe. They need to believe you can win these games.”

Celtic being described as very good in the game and very dangerous is a clear indication of the level they are producing heading into this fixture.

Gray knows Celtic’s standards leave little margin for Hibs

Celtic’s standards place immediate pressure on any opponent, especially one already acknowledging its own shortcomings, after Gray admitted we’ve beaten ourselves.

When facing a side like Celtic’s, the margins are fine, as shown by the need to keep 11 on the pitch.

The gap is clear, Celtic are delivering in a title race while Hibs have their own issues with inconsistency to fix.
