Kieran Tierney rejects the Serie A, Bundesliga giants & Everton to return to Celtic
A report in The Herald has indicated the kind of clubs Tierney turned down and the chance to earn even more money than he would at Celtic.
According to the report, Bayer Leverkusen, Sevilla, Juventus and Everton are all said to have offered Tierney a contract to play in Germany, Spain, Italy or England.
As every Celtic fan knows, every one of those clubs would easily out-muscle the Parkhead club in terms of wages, but it seems the pull of returning to Paradise was just too much for the Arsenal defender.
Kieran Tierney’s phenomenal Celtic record as return from Arsenal nears
Kieran Tierney enjoyed a phenomenal amount of success before he left for Arsenal in 2019.
Under Brendan Rodgers, the Scotland defender was imperious as he picked up a hatful of medals in his first spell at the club.
So with that in mind, here are the highlights of Tierney’s time at Celtic including that incredible Invincibles Treble season.
- 170 appearances
- 8 goals & 37 assists
- 5 League title wins
- Three Scottish Cup wins
- Three League Cup wins
- Double Treble hero
Clearly, the chance to replicate that success at Celtic with another spell at Paradise was too much to resits for Tierney and the fans will be hoping that the current Arsenal defender will do just that.
