Cluj Sporting Director believes Celtic are out for revenge against his side tonight.

The Hoops and the Romanian champs lock horns in the first Europa League match at Celtic Park.

Both sides played earlier this year in the Champions League qualifiers with the visitors going through. There is an added edge to this game as Neil Lennon will go out to right his wrongs from the defeat.

Cluj Sporting Director thinks Celtic match will not be easy

Rennes and Celtic drew one each thanks to penalties either side of the halves.

At the beginning the Celts would be looking for six points and something more against Cluj but it won’t be easy. Mara knows this and outlines what his side need to do tonight to counter the Hoops.

He told DigiSport: “Things will be completely different. They, after our victory since then, will have a great desire for revenge.

“I am convinced that they will treat the match more seriously and it will not be as easy. We will need to make a game much better than last time to be able to win again.”

Romanian star man doesn’t want to look at Hoops interest

One man Hoops fans’ eyes may be on is Cluj striker Bilel Omrani. He scored at Parkhead and was reportedly subject to interest from Scottish clubs in the summer. Nothing came to fruition and Omrani remains in the colours of Cluj until January at least.

However, this isn’t stopping the Romanian media from asking the question.

He told Fanatik: “I don’t want to talk about Celtic’s interest. I will just focus on doing my job for CFR Cluj.

“I had a chance to win against Lazio and took advantage. We were very happy, but that result is already history, we must concentrate on what follows.”

Celtic fans will be hoping that the French striker keeps quiet on the pitch tonight.
