Nicolas Kuhn is now starting to show his quality at Celtic after his big January transfer move from Rapid Vienna.

Brendan Rodgers paid £3m to bring Kuhn to Celtic Park and after an initial shaky start, the German winger has now settled at Celtic and is starting to show his qualities.

Illness affected Nicolas Kuhn‘s performances at the beginning of his Celtic career and there were doubts that he could be a success but recently, he has started to prove those doubters wrong.

And now, after his stunning substitute appearance in the 5-2 League Cup defeat of Falkirk, The Bairns captain, Coll Donaldson explains what people don’t realise about Kuhn at Celtic.

Celtic winger Nicolas Kuhn’s ‘rapid’ pace

Donaldson faced Kuhn for just 30 minutes on Saturday at Parkhead and was blown away by just how quick the Celtic winger is.

Donaldson told The Big Scottish Football Podcast, “Kuhn, how good was he when he came on? So sharp.

“You don’t realise, you know, when you watch these boys on the telly, they obviously look good and Kuhn, what a season he’s having but you don’t actually realise how quick these boys are.

“They just take yards out of you. And I’m not rapid but I’m not slow either but they’re so sharp and he changed the game for them, didn’t he?”

Nicolas Kuhn is now one of Celtic’s most important players

To be honest, I don’t think many Celtic fans would have thought they would be saying this after his first few months at the club but Kuhn has now made himself undroppable at Celtic.

Brendan Rodgers seems to have worked his magic with the 24-year-old and after some impressive performances on the US Tour, Kuhn has carried that on into the new season.

In just eight appearances, Kuhn has scored five goals and created six as Celtic’s relentless start to the season continues.

With Daizen Maeda on one wing and Nicolas Kuhn on the other, Celtic seem to have two of the fastest attackers in Europe which can only bode well for the season ahead.
