The Celtic fans are now starting to see why Brendan Rodgers paid £3m for Nicolas Kuhn in the January transfer window.
The German winger suffered from some inconsistent form despite making a goal-scoring debut in the 1-1 draw with Aberdeen up at Pittodrie last season.
Since then, it was revealed that Kuhn had a health issue to deal with as the Celtic winger recovered from an illness where he suffered some serious weight loss that caused him to become more tired than normal.
Now fully recovered, Kuhn looks a different player and he has now kicked on at Celtic after getting a full pre-season under his belt.
But the recovery from his illness is not the only reason why Nicolas Kuhn is wowing the Celtic fans this season.
Rodgers hails Celtic’s ‘player support department’
The Celtic boss was speaking to fan media after his team’s 3-1 win over Hibs in the League Cup yesterday and explained how what the club did behind the scenes for Kuhn is now paying off on the pitch.
Rodgers told Celtic Fans TV, “It’s just adaption. I think that in the modern world, we want everything straight away. But in football, it hasn’t changed over many, many years.
“It’s development. It’s time. It’s settlement, it’s also understanding what it takes for a player to settle. You just can’t come from one country and then to drop into somewhere else and expect to be exactly the same.
“Thankfully, at Celtic, we’ve got an amazing player support department that looks after a lot of the needs for the players when they come in, and so that has allowed him to settle.
“ I think when he came in in January, was obviously a difficult moment in the season for health reasons and other reasons he just took a little bit of time.
“But you see the importance of having a good preseason. He looks faster, he looks stronger, he looks more dynamic and he’s more aggressive in his game because that was what he needed to do.
“I think I said to other players in the past that when you’re up there you’ve got to score goals and create goals, that’s your job. It’s as simple as that.
“So he’s doing his job very well.”
Celtic reaping the rewards

Nicolas Kuhn has now scored in every single game for Celtic this season and he has also created an assist. As Rodgers states, the German is also flying as he is now also starting to show the pace that makes him such a dangerous weapon for Celtic.
The Celtic fans were blown away by Kuhn in pre-season after his performance against Man City and it’s great to see him take that form into the defence of the title this season.
Celtic now face a tough away fixture at St Mirren before the first Glasgow Derby of the season against Rangers at Celtic Park and if Kuhn continues his impressive performances you wouldn’t bet against him continuing his impressive goalscoring run in both games.
