Brendan Rodgers has managed some of the biggest clubs in the world.

From his three years as Liverpool manager to his second stint in the Celtic dugout. It has been some journey for the Irishman and he is still going.

Before Jurgen Klopp arrived and ended Liverpool’s 30-year wait for a Premier League title, no-one else had come closer than Rodgers himself and that’s something that still probably haunts him to this day.

But Rodgers has showcased his trophy-winning credentials at Celtic and he is now further enhancing his legacy in Glasgow.

That’s ten trophies for the 51-year-old at Parkhead and you sense there is plenty more of that to come this season because another Treble campaign is on.

Added to that, after years of struggle, Celtic are also showing life in the Champions League and knockout football awaits.

European football commentator Rob Palmer wanted to give Rodgers his flowers for the job he is doing and debunk the feelings towards him from Liverpool fans.

Rob Palmer says ‘people underestimating’ Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers

Added to his time as Liverpool boss, Rodgers also won promotion to the Premier League with Swansea City and won the FA Cup at Leicester.

Palmer wanted to highlight ‘what a great manager’ he is and shutdown suggestions that he is ‘hated’ by the Liverpool fanbase, as he told ESPN.

European football expert Gab Marcotti claimed that ‘98%’ of Liverpool fans he knows don’t like the Celtic boss, but Palmer was quick to put him straight.

“I think people are underestimating what a great manager Brendan Rodgers is,” said Palmer. “He’s had to go back there. He can’t leave the club.

“Liverpool, you forget he got them to second, he won the FA Cup with Leicester City and to fifth place. Leicester to fifth place! I don’t think they have lost in four games now (in the Champions League) and Celtic have a chance of competing in the big league.”

Gab Marcotti responded: “It’s funny, you live on Merseyside, so I am assuming you are surrounded by Liverpool fans. 98% of Liverpool fans I know absolutely hate Brendan Rodgers. Are you comfortable stating your opinions on him in public?”

Palmer responded: “I wouldn’t say hate. I would say (laugh at or joke about it). It was Dalglish before (Rodgers came in). You saw the documenry. He was a bit of a laughing stock. If you actually look at his record, he ain’t a bad manager.”

How many trophies has Rodgers won in his career?

The trophies are stacking up for Rodgers and he wouldn’t have been part of a better game than the one at Hampden over the weekend.

Celtic’s penalty shootout victory over Rangers was epic and it will live long in the memory of fans for years and years to come.

But how many trophies has Rodgers now won as a manager?
