Craig Moore sounds worried as he highlights a ‘serious matter’ on the gap between Celtic and Rangers

Celtic fans will be looking forward to the return of the domestic action in just over one week’s time as the international break enters its second phase.

Celtic fans had a chance to see Anthony Ralston in action as Scotland beat Croatia and the Hoops support also saw Luis Palma take care of Mexico for Honduras.

But domestic football is what the fans look forward to especially now that Celtic are top of the Scottish Premiership table with the gap between the Parkhead club both on and off the park

And it’s a gap that has former Rangers defender, Craig Moore, seriously worried.

Rangers blinded by Celtic as the gap increases

Speaking about possible investment coming into Rangers, Moore said the Ibrox club needs to have a longer-term view of chasing Celtic and predicted how long it could take for Rangers to catch Celtic if they don’t.

Moore told The Go Radio Football Show [1h 22m 15s], “Obviously Celtic are on top and Rangers are chasing it, chasing it, chasing it.

“But you can be blinded by that day-to-day battle but you need to see the bigger picture. I think that this is now a serious matter, that if you don’t get somebody that has that sight or that visual of what it should look like in 5, 10, 15, 20 years, Rangers are losing time and distance between Celtic at this moment in time. You’re talking, it could be 3, 4, 5 years, the gap.

“Ongoing until you get that right structure in place. But it needs serious investment, not a window.”

The next Glasgow Derby is on the 2nd of January at Ibrox where, if Celtic win, they can end any chances of Rangers catching them for the title.
