With the international break in full swing now, Celtic fans can now read some positivity about Luis Palma after his substitute appearance for Honduras vs Mexico.
Palma has struggled to break into the Celtic team this season and has made just seven appearances under Brenda Rodgers so far.
The Celtic winger opened up on his lack of game-time at Parkhead and recently revealed how a family passing has also affected him deeply.
However, as one of 13 Celtic players currently on international duty, Palma had the opportunity to show Rodgers what he can offer him and he didn’t let the Hoops boss down.
In the first leg of the CONCACAF Nations League quarter-final against Mexico, Palma was on fire as he netted a double in the 2-0 win to send the Honduran media into a frenzy.

Coming off the bench, Palma scored on the 63rd minute with his first touch and sealed the game on 82nd minute with a super well placed shot to give the Hondurans a two-goal advantage ahead of the return leg in Mexico.
And the Honduran media lapped it up.
Diez: “A minute after being on the field, he broke the game and scored the first of the night at the Morazán stadium, which made the Catrachos explode with joy.

The second half began with intense pressure from the Catracho side, who got their first goal in the 64th minute through Luis Palma, who plays for Celtic of Scotland.

Palma hasn’t scored an international goal since the Celtic winger netted for Honduras against Grenada in the 4-0 win back in September 2023.

It must have come as a surprise to the Celtic fans considering his lack of game time in Paradise. The Hoops attacker has now given his country an excellent chance to make the semi-final if Honduras can stand firm in Mexico on Wednesday.
