World footballing icon, Cristiano Ronaldo is still talking about Celtic fans almost 20 years after playing the Parkhead club.

Ronaldo has played for some of the world’s biggest clubs and countries, in front of some of the most hostile fans in the planet but it’s the Celtic support that are ingrained in his memory.

From Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and even Sporting Lisbon, Ronaldo has faced passionate fans from clubs like Barcelona, Porto, Inter Milan and AC Milan, but it is the Celtic Park crowd the Portuguese superstar remembers the most.

Now at Al Nassr, Ronaldo is in the twilight years of his career, the former Ballon d’Or winner was asked if there was any other place better to score than against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu when he recalled the memory of playing in front of the Celtic supporters.

Ronaldo states playing in front of Celtic fans as good as scoring against Barcelona

The former Real Madrid star said that scoring against Barcelona in the Nou Camp was great, but is invoked memories of the famous Celtic Park crowd.

Ronaldo told El Chringuito TV, “I was on top. They whistled at me, but I didn’t care about the insults.

“I was only thinking about scoring and shutting those people up. I liked scoring goals at Camp Nou more than at the Bernabeu.”

And reflecting on the famous Champions League win Celtic had against Man United at Parkhead, Ronaldo continued, “The Celtic fans are incredible. It is always great to play there.”

Ronaldo has faced Celtic just three times over his illustrious career in the Champions League. The Portuguese superstar has never scored against the Bhoys.
