Another Rangers manager headed for the exit door, as Celtic celebrated their 55th Premiership title over the weekend.
Barry Ferguson departed Rangers, following his interim appointment, and now there is talk that Steven Gerrard could be coming back to Glasgow.
Just like the present, Celtic dominated for the majority of Gerrard’s first reign in charge, but he did stop the Bhoys from winning the ten, and that’s something that will sting for a very long time.
But the fact remains, the former Liverpool midfielder only won one trophy, as Celtic have continued to eat up the honours following his exit to Aston Villa in 2021.
That nightmare tenure in the Midlands didn’t last long for the 44-year-old, who proceeded to become the manager of Saudi Pro League side, Al-Ettifaq, before leaving in January.

Danny Murphy’s Celtic disrespect ahead of Steven Gerrard’s possible Rangers return
It’s crazy how some people can have very little knowledge of Scottish football, then claim to form strong opinions like they know what they are talking about.
In Danny Murphy’s case, he admitted that he ‘hasn’t watched enough of Celtic or Rangers’ to state how Gerrard will fare against his former manager, Brendan Rodgers.
But the former Liverpool midfielder still went on to disrespect Celtic by stating on talkSPORT that ‘they aren’t brilliant’, even though they won the Premiership title by 17 points and are on course for the Treble.
“I am not surprised, because for Rangers, it’s an easy option,” said Murphy about the possible Gerrard appointment.
“When was the last time we had success? Who brought it for us? Who was able to knock Celtic off their perch? It was Stevie, wasn’t it?!
“There is no guarantee for Rangers, whoever they appoint, they have to do some really cute business in the transfer market, by all accounts, because the squad is inept compared to Celtic’s.
On whether Gerrard will stand up against Rodgers: “It’s hard for me to know, because I haven’t watched enough of Celtic or Rangers to see the gap. I know you can see the table and see the points, and what Rangers need from a player perspective. How his hands are going to be tied or not.
“If Stevie is given a decent budget, and able to bring some players in. They will be competitive. Celtic aren’t brilliant, are they? They are a good side. Brendan is good and more experienced.”
Rod Stewart doesn’t like Murphy’s Celtic comments
Thankfully, Murphy was called out on his comments, as Celtic-mad Rod Stewart was listening to the radio station.
Host Jim White informed Murphy that he had received a text from Stewart, who didn’t appreciate his comments on Celtic not being very good.
But as per Murphy, he continued to spout his nonsense about how this Celtic side that has won four titles in a row are ‘no world beaters’.
Once again, you hardly watch any Scottish football, Danny, so how would you know?!
“Sir Rod Stewart has just texted me, he isn’t like some of your comments that ‘Celtic aren’t very good,” said Jim White to Simon Jordan.
Jordan then responded: “I didn’t say that. Danny said that.”
Murphy then added: “What I am saying is, it’s not insurmountable to get to as good as their level, with a few good buys. They are a decent side. They are no world beaters.”
