Daizen Maeda came back with a bang after the international break to score for Celtic in the win against Kilmarnock.
Last season’s top scorer broke the deadlock in the 57th minute when his header gave the Hoops the lead at Rugby Park.
It was his first goal since Maeda admitted he wanted to leave Celtic, and although his effort levels can never be questioned, it is clear that he has been off the pace.
He looked more like himself on Sunday, and David Friel was wowed by one part of the 27-year-old’s goal.

David Friel loved Daizen Maeda’s movement for Celtic goal
Ross McCormack thinks Kelechi Iheanacho can aid Maeda by allowing him to move out to his favoured wide positions, even though his goal came from the middle.
To get on the end of Marcelo Saracchi’s cross required some brilliant movement, which Friel saying it’s one of the best bits of play he’s seen.
“I’m critical with playing him as a centre forward, I don’t think that’s his position, but his movement for the goal was the best I’ve seen him doing it,” he said on the Go Radio Football Show.
“He went behind the defender and then came back across him to get a great header from a great ball in. He gave the goalkeeper no chance.”
Daizen Maeda will give his all for one final season
Brendan Rodgers has known Maeda has wanted out since February, but you’d have never known unless it was made public knowledge.
The 27-year-old is more than likely to leave Celtic Park at the end of this season and will depart with everyone’s well wishes.
Until that day comes, Hoops fans can still enjoy his tenacious work rate and hopefully more happy memories.
