David Martindale found a way to get finances into his post-Celtic assessment, albeit briefly.
His Livingston side were left battered by Ange Postecoglou‘s Celtic in the first-half but held on to keep the score respestacble.
Greg Taylor, Daizen Maeda and Kyogo Furuhashi struck the goals at a soaked Celtic Park as the Hoops remained nine points clear at the top.

The Celtic faithful were certainly content at the break, but that feeling didn’t extend to the visitors’ dugout.
“It was lucky I couldn’t get a reception,” Martindale said after the game, as reported by the Herald. “I was trying to get an Uber.
“It was a really difficult game for us to lay a glove on them. But I did think we gifted them two goals. The second and third goals we’ve got to do a lot better defensively.
“They’ve got international players. I’ve seen them do that to Real Madrid – they were probably the better team in that game for 60 minutes.
“You’ve got to take your hat off to Ange. What he’s done at Celtic, he’s done it incredibly well.
“It’s all right having money. It’s how you spend it and then it’s how you coach the players you bring in.”

There’s certainly been a bit of toing and froing between Martindale and Postecoglou lately, but it all seems friendly enough.
Livingston no longer seem to be a real threat to Celtic, with three wins from three against them this season and eight goals scored to just one conceded.
As we covered yesterday, the finances aren’t really the issue. It’s not as if Celtic are spending money we don’t have. We still made a healthy profit in transfers during the January window.
Now we move on to St. Johnstone at the weekend and a chance to hit the 70 point mark.
