Celtic fans know exactly just how big our club is. There are Celtic supporters clubs all over the globe and when the club are on their travels in Europe, there is always a strong contingent of fans that will follow them wherever they go.
But this is not new news to us. The scenes when Celtic lifted the European Cup in Lisbon in 1967 were just incredible. In most recent times, the 2003 UEFA Cup Final in Seville should have left people in no doubt about just how well supported our club is as the Celtic fans descended on the city in their tens of thousands.
And when we won the league and sealed a world record eighth domestic treble, the scenes around Glasgow as the Celtic support took over the city centre were just incredible.
Of course, we are well used to the size of our club being questioned. Especially from the press and football fans down south. Playing in Scotland in a smaller league can often make people assume that the size of the club is not as big as the Celtic support claim.

Well, that assumption was shot down as West Ham manager, David Moyes reminded journalists about the size of Celtic.
Moyes was asked if he had any advice for Ange Postecoglou at Spurs in a pre-match press conference promoting a friendly between West Ham and Spurs in Australia.
Moyes said [Optus Sport], “He’ll never get more pressure than he did managing Celtic Football Club. Celtic Football Club are probably the third or fourth best-supported football club in the world, and if you manage Celtic Football Club, you’re used to pressure.
“So he’ll have no problem.”

It was a nice touch from Moyes. The West Ham manager does have a history at Celtic where, as a player, he made 24 league appearances for the club over a three-year period.
But, obviously, being born and bred in Glasgow he has known, just like every Celtic supporter, just how big the club is and his comments will resonate and delight every fan all over the globe.
Celtic are set to embark on the next stage of their pre-season preparations in the Japan Tour this week and there will, no doubt, be a large green and white presence as the Celtic supporters look forward to seeing their heroes in action for the first time since Brendan Rodgers took over the club.
