It appears the moment that Celtic fans have been dreading will soon be upon us, as major outlets in England deliver the news that Tottenham Hotspur are close to appointing Ange Postecoglou.
David Ornstein at The Athletic reports that a deal for Postecoglou is expected to be finalised in the coming days after Postecoglou emerged as the outstanding candidate in Spurs’ continued search for a new boss.
John Percy of The Telegraph, who was the journalist who broke the news of Postecoglou’s move from Yokohama F.Marinos to Celtic out of nowhere similarly reports that Spurs are set to step up their interest in the Celtic man.

The Australian has been in charge of the Bhoys since 2021 and has won five domestic trophies from the six available to him, including a treble this season.
Despite being given many opportunities, Postecoglou has not publicly committed his future to Celtic and it seems everything is now coming to a head.
It at least looks like Celtic and fans won’t be waiting too long for confirmation, allowing everyone to move on quickly and get on with the task of preparing for the coming campaign.
For many, it’ll feel a bit too soon to say goodbye to Postecoglou. Another year in the job felt like the natural next step for him. However, this opportunity has arrived quickly and it’s hard for him to turn down.
He leaves with the good wishes of many Celtic supporters, having brought pride back to the club and delivered dominance over Scottish football after the dismal 2020/21 campaign.
The Celtic board will now be looking for a new person to take the reins in an effort to continue the recent success and make progress on the European scene.
