One-time Celtic transfer target David Turnbull believes that he has over the knee injury which wrecked his possible move to the Hoops last season, the Scottish Sun reports.
Turnbull was all set to join the Hoops last June, however as reported by STV the deal was cancelled after an issue was found in the player’s medical, which led to an operation and a long lay-off for Turnbull.
Now he is trying to make up for lost time. Turnbull scored his first goal of the season in Motherwell’s 2-2 draw with Livingston in midweek.
The player is delighted that he has overcome his injury issues.
“I’m feeling fit”
“I’m feeling fit. I came back after lockdown and was back into training and I’m getting back up to speed” Turnbull said, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.

“The gaffer has given me a chance and I feel I have done well in the first three games. Now I just want to kick on.”
One man who will be paying close attention to Turnbull’s form is Celtic boss Neil Lennon. He is a fan of the player. After all, he was Hoops boss when the Scottish Champions tried to sign the player.
It will be interesting to see if the Hoops decide to once more pursue Turnbull. That will most likely depend on his ability to keep fit.
Hoops could once more move for player
However, the Hoops could be left with a conundrum if, for example, Turnbull goes on a goalscoring spree up until the transfer window closes on the 5th of October.

Should Turnbull score five or six goals between now and then, it would not be a shock to see Neil Lennon decide to once more make a move for a player that he admires.
Only time will tell on that front. Still, it is a positive for the player that he is once again fit. Who knows, perhaps he might end up a Celtic player in the future.
