Celtic closed off their transfer business in quiet fashion yesterday and will now turn their attention towards the fight for the Scottish Premiership title.

Late in the evening, Adam Idah officially joined the club on a loan deal until the end of the campaign from Norwich City, which will give Brendan Rodgers an alternative figure to Kyogo Furuhashi in the forward areas.

The Republic of Ireland international has spoken of his delight to be at the club, stating after being announced: “My family and my friends are all delighted that I’m here and I just can’t wait to get started. All of us back home support Celtic so it’s huge for me and I’m so excited to be here.”

Becoming the second and only arrival at Parkhead in the mid-season market behind Nicolas Kuhn, there is a feeling among fans that the Scottish Premiership holders could’ve done more to bring players in.

On the face of it, Turnbull was in and out of the Celtic side this term before completing his move to the Welsh capital.

Nevertheless, the 24-year-old registered seven strikes in 16 games this campaign, which are goals that the Hoops didn’t bring anyone in to compensate for following his exit [Transfermarkt].

Taking to Instagram, Turnbull has thanked Celtic supporters and staff for all their support during his time at the club.

Arriving from Motherwell for £3 million in 2020, the cultured midfielder has played his part under three different managers, walking away with a lot of credit for his all-round contribution in green and white.

Now, it is time for both parties to move on, and it will be intriguing to see who could inherit his minutes in the engine room.
