Brendan Rodgers delivered another Champions League masterclass last night after Celtic despatched RB Leipzig at Parkhead.
The Celtic boss was under pressure after the Borussia Dortmund result but it is fair to say Rodgers has answered his critics after the Hoops’ dominant display over Leipzig last night.
The defeat has caused ructions in the German media after Celtic bossed Marco Rose’s side and with zero points on the board, the pressure is being felt by the Bundesliga club.
Marcel Schafer was unhappy as the RB Leipzig sporting director reacted to the Celtic defeat but the win at Parkhead has left Dean Saunders buzzing with one Hoops hero last night.
Dean Saunders in awe of ‘amazing’ Nicolas Kuhn in Celtic’s win vs RB Leipzig
Saunders named three ‘diamonds’ he spotted from all of last night’s Champions League fixtures and picked out Nicolas Kuhn’s performance as one of the best of the rest.
Saunders told talkSPORT, “My three diamonds, number one, I’m going to start with Kuhn at Celtic. Amazing performance last night.
“I’m going to give it to him, and you need players like that to set you off. Work rate, you know, is infectious. Enthusiasm is infectious.

“There’s only one thing more infectious than enthusiasm. It’s lack of enthusiasm, which some teams get.
“But he took the team forward last night and a great performance. So he’s my first one.”
Saunders named incoming Manchester United manager Ruben Amorin and Liverpool’s Ruben Diaz as his other two for their part in Sporting Lisbon and Liverpool’s results last night.
Nicolas Kuhn’s Champions League stats vs RB Leipzig’s attackers
Nicolas Kuhn has been in superb form for Celtic but how do his stats square up to the multi-million pound talents of RB Leipzig?
Here, 67 Hail Hail takes a look:
| Played | Total Goals | Total Assists | Champions League Goals | Champions League Assists | |
| Nicolas Kuhn | 16 | 9 | 10 | 2 | 1 |
| Antonio Nusa | 19 | 3 | 3 | 0 | 0 |
| Lois Openda | 14 | 6 | 4 | 0 | 1 |
| Benjamin Sesko | 14 | 7 | 3 | 3 | 0 |
Last night this site said that Kuhn has made a mockery of his £3m transfer fee. Sesko was purchased for £20m, Nusa for £28m and Openda for £35m.
Last night proved that to get quality it’s not all about how much money is spent on a player.
