It’s not easy leaving a club the size of Celtic because you are almost guaranteed trophies and Champions League football.
But, from a financial perspective, many other leagues are far more lucrative than what Celtic and Scottish football provide.
With a month remaining before the 2025 summer transfer window slams shut, a handful of players have left the champions of Scotland.
Whilst the likes of Nicolas Kuhn and Greg Taylor, to name a few, won’t face their former side because they are in Italy and Greece, respectively.
A certain Scott Bain will face Brendan Rodgers’ side this term because he joined newly-promoted Falkirk.

Scott Bain on Celtic making him a ‘better goalkeeper’
Bain was a popular player at Celtic with the fans, even though he didn’t play a single minute last term, but he was very complimentary when talking about the club ahead of the opening weekend of the Premiership season.
Falkirk will host Dundee United on Sunday, and Bain explained how he has left Celtic a ‘better goalkeeper’ than when he first joined the club in 2018.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the 33-year-old admitted it was ‘frustrating’ towards the back end of his Celtic career, but he has learnt a lot from that experience.
“I think I have left Celtic a better goalkeeper than when I went there,” said Bain.
“The majority of the games I played were when I first went in, but I got experience at really the highest level.
“Towards the end, yeah, it’s a bit frustrating. It can be a long season when you are travelling, but you are still training with the best players in the country every week.
“You are sharp and on it every day. You have to be. So, it stands me in good stead being here.”
Bain on ‘getting your life back’ after leaving Celtic and joining Falkirk
No club in Scotland, and not many across the world, can match the pressure that comes with being a Celtic player.
Even though Bain was a backup option for Celtic, he still felt the heat, especially with the constant travels across Europe.
From having to deal with three games a week, including travelling across Europe in midweek, Bain admitted that it’s great to ‘get your life back’ because he can now just mainly concentrate on playing from ‘Saturday to Saturday’ with Falkirk.
“Yeah, I think so (getting game time is the main reason for joining Falkirk),” said Bain.
“I think coming into a club that is well run, and has that sort of buzz about it from coming up in the Championship. The boys in there have done all the hard work, and it’s a bit of a bonus to have that behind you going into the next season.
“But, for myself, it was just a case of playing regularly. Playing games. Getting back in the swing of things. Getting your life back, in terms of, we would do a lot of travelling with Celtic. European games, etc…
“So, to come to a club, where you can play regularly, mostly Saturday to Saturday, and have full concentration on that, it’s going to be great.”
