The Jakob Breum to Celtic from Go Ahead Eagles transfer saga continues this week.

Weeks after Celtic’s interest in Breum first emerged, fans have had to watch on as bid after bid for the Danish winger was rejected by the Dutch club.

In fairness to the Dutch club, it appears that Celtic’s bids for the talented Breum are well below what Go Ahead want for the youngster.

And now, it appears that there is a very good reason why Go Ahead won’t budge from their asking price for Breum as details of a transfer clause emerge for the Celtic target.

Jakob Breum’s sell-on clause as Go Ahead stand firm with Celtic

Go Ahead Eagles want at least £5m for their young winger and it appears that Celtic are eager to negotiate a better deal.

However, the Daily Record states that the reason why Go Ahead will not budge from their asking price is due to a 25% sell-on clause they will owe Breum’s former club Odense.

The report also says that with Go Ahead already confirming their place in the Europa Conference League, they are keen to hold onto Breum for the tournament.

But there is more to this deal than meets the eye as a potential new price Celtic could pay emerges which explains why the Parkhead club appear to be low-balling the Dutch side.

How Celtic could land Jakob Breum for £2m

As Celtic continue to make bids well below Go Ahead’s valuation of Breum, it appears that there is a possibility that the Parkhead club could get their man for around £2m.

The report also states that should Breum stay with the Dutch club until next summer, the young Dane would be available for just £2m.

There is no explanation why but this could explain why Celtic are reluctant to meet Go Ahead’s current asking price.

However, this is a risky strategy as it has already been confirmed that another club has bid more for Breum as Celtic continue to haggle.
