There is a feeling that Celtic might just be timing everything just at the right time.

From constant fan protests, several managerial changes and cancelled AGMs, to state that there was a massive divide at Celtic this season would be an understatement.

But there seemed to be something different in the air at Parkhead over the weekend, as Martin O’Neill’s side kicked off their post-split fixtures with a win over Falkirk.

It was mentioned by Falkirk boss John McGlynn after the match, and now, even former Rangers man Derek Ferguson is noticing the positive change.

“The thing with Celtic, it’s beginning to happen,” said Ferguson. “There is more of a feel-good factor. Is there, you can tell me? Seems that way to me.”

Should Martin O’Neill have been nominated for the PFA Scotland manager of the year?

Derek Ferguson notices a mood change at Celtic for post-split fixtures

This should be music to the ears of the Celtic Park faithful.

Not only are those inside the club noticing a positive change when Celtic need it most, but so are those people on the outside.

What has happened this season has happened. You can’t turn back time. But with only three points separating the champions of Scotland and current leaders Hearts, there is everything to play for.

On Sunday, Celtic will take on Hibernian at Easter Road, hoping to continue this ‘feel-good factor’ in what could be a pivotal week for everyone because Hearts also host Rangers on Bank Holiday Monday.

But speaking on the Let Me Be Frank podcast, Ferguson puts the mood change at Celtic down to one man, and that’s the one and only O’Neill.

Ferguson: “The thing with Celtic, it’s beginning to happen, there is more of a feel-good factor. Is there, you can tell me? Seems that way to me.”

Simon Houston: “Amongst the supporters, there seems to be, kind of, pulling in the same direction at Celtic.”

Ferguson: “That’s just from the outside looking in. You can see that. That is down to only one guy, that’s the manager.”
