More details have emerged about the mysterious Zoom meetings that Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou is part of.

Less than a week ago, we told you about the regular group calls Postecoglou was having with the likes of Wallabies rugby coach Eddie Jones.

As Ange told the Scottish Daily Mail [24/02 print edition, page 85]: “I’ve always had networks of people and Eddie is one of them. And along with three or four other Australian coaches from different codes, we catch up once a month on Zoom.

“It’s more cathartic than anything else. We just complain for half an hour about our sort of burden, unburden ourselves and move on.”

So the premise is very simple. Postecoglou and his counterparts discuss what’s going on in their jobs, and sometimes receive helpful guidance. But we still don’t really know a lot.

Well now, the Sydney Morning Herald have penned an article offering some insight on the calls, and confirming that Ange is indeed part of one group.

The meetings are the “brainchild” of Matt Wadewitz from company Aleda. The idea was devised at the start of the pandemic in 2020.

The article lists Postecoglou and Jones, as well as Western Bulldogs’ Luke Beveridge, Boomers’ Brian Goorjian and former Adelaide Crows coach Neil Craig as being part of the group.

Initially they met every fortnight, but meetings are now every five weeks given that eight sessions have been completed.

Interestingly, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is said to be involved too, although not in the exact same group as Ange.

His call also includes Eddie Jones and Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur among others.

How Postecoglou got involved in the chats to begin with remains a mystery, but the Aussie connection is likely to have played a big part.

Ange seems to find the sessions useful. And that makes them good news for Celtic.

Now someone just needs to find a way to record one of them and get it uploaded to YouTube.
