Celtic fans on social media got the chance to see recent signing Diego Laxalt’s first day at the Hoops’ training ground complex at Lennoxtown.

Aside from the usual photos featured on the club’s Twitter page, Celtic also uploaded a series of videos to the club’s Instagram stories.

Unfortunately we can only show screenshots of the Instagram videos on 67HH. However, they give a rough idea of what Laxalt got up to on his first day with his new teammates.

Given encouragement

For a start, he was given shouts of praise and encouragement from his new teammates and manager after a nice pass during what looked to be a game of five-a-side.

He then managed to score a goal in one of the five-a-side games. Laxalt made an interception and fired the ball into the empty goal.

Finally, he had a reunion with Olivier Ntcham. The duo played together at Genoa.

Laxalt will be pleased to get his first day at training over with. Of course, he won’t have met all of his Hoops teammates yet. Some are away on international duty. However, it is a good thing that he will get at least a week of training under his belt before he possibly makes his Celtic debut.

Could feature in derby?

If Laxalt had joined the Hoops the day before a game then there is no chance that Neil Lennon would even consider him as an option to take on Rangers next Saturday.

However, as he will have some training under his belt then the Hoops boss might decide to give Laxalt a debut. Only time will tell on that front. Still, it is good to see the player has settled down into life at Celtic. Hopefully it is the first day of many good ones for him.

In other news, James Horncastle expects Zlatan Ibrahimovic to be fit for Milan’s trip to Celtic Park.
