What a journey it has been for Ange Postecoglou since he left Celtic.
The 59-year-old’s career in itself, including winning the Treble at Celtic, was worth telling a story on its own, but the drama has gone to another level in the English Premier League.
After finishing fifth in his debut campaign at Tottenham, things started to turn sour this season, including sitting in the bottom half of the table for large parts of the season, before ending 17th.
But Tottenham won the Europa League in Bilbao last month by beating Manchester United, and now the noise around Postecoglou is different.
Those doubters have turned into believers, including Postecoglou telling the world, back in November when the pressure was on him, that he ‘always wins trophies in his second season’.
But that feeling seemingly isn’t being met with those in the Spurs boardroom.

Ramon Vega is angry at the news around Celtic hero Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham
Even though Postecoglou ended Tottenham’s 17-year wait for a trophy, including their first European honour since the 80s.
There are suggestions that Postecoglou could be sacked by Tottenham, and that isn’t going down well with ex-Celtic and Spurs man, Ramon Vega.
The former centre-back has been a vocal backer of the Greek-born Australian all season long, and now he expressed his anger on social media at the sacking reports.
‘I find it incredibly disrespectful to even think about sacking Ange Postecoglou,’ stated Vega.
‘He has accomplished the impossible — something others with more significant credentials have failed to achieve.
‘Letting him go would be one of the biggest mistakes the club again could make, especially considering the previous errors the club has already made with management and recruitment.
‘Ange Postecoglou is here to stay and needs to be given the support it needs with that extra money for qualifying for the CL! Rome wasn’t built in one day’.
When will Postecoglou know about his future?
This shouldn’t be a conversation. Postecoglou should be talking about extending his stay at Spurs, and bringing in players for next season.
Yes, that trophy win, for a club like Spurs is that memorable, but Daniel Levy, the man making the calls, thinks and acts differently. That’s why the club has only won two trophies during his near three-decade stint as chairman.
But Sky Sports are now reporting that Postecoglou’s future will be ‘resolved’ this week.
