Celtic legend Scott Brown has had a very difficult season as a player/coach at Aberdeen this season and it has culminated in the departure of Stephen Glass as Dons manager.
Aberdeen confirmed the news this morning after they were dumped out of the Scottish Cup by Motherwell yesterday at Fir Park.
The result prompted angry scenes in the stands, with clips of supporters giving pelters to the Aberdeen squad and coaching staff being shared on social media.

Coaches Allan Russell and Henry Apaloo have also left the club but, crucially, Brown remains at Pittodrie.
Whether that is just in a player role remains to be seen. However, you’d have to consider Brown to now be a decent contender for any caretaker manager position at the club.
Brown, club captain and natural leader, has been working with the group as a coach all season.
The Daily Record reports this morning that a caretaker option is indeed the most likely call between now and the end of the campaign.
Aberdeen have to get their next managerial appointment right and will have to take time to make a decision that leaves their supporters inspired for the road ahead.
Brown could well be a decent stopgap but whether he feels ready for that kind of opportunity and scrutiny so early in his coaching career is another matter.
Barry Robson and Neil Simpson could well end up taking charge on an interim basis too. The Express reports Brown could end up with a more prominent coaching role in that scenario – so either way, it will be a big few months for him.
Aberdeen are on a run of terrible results and it’s a difficult situation for any manager to come into. But as we know, Brown doesn’t shy away from a challenge.
An interesting situation to watch over the coming days.
