It’s not often that an opposition player actually admits to a Celtic result living rent free in their head, but that’s what Dundee United’s Ian Harkes pretty much said earlier today.
The American midfielder played 58 minutes of the Tangerines’ 9-0 loss to Celtic in late August.
Ahead of tomorrow’s return fixture in Glasgow, he admits that the game is still on their minds to some extent.

“It’s obviously going to be an incredibly difficult game,” Harkes told the Courier.
“That result is lingering in the back of our heads and we all know it was embarrassing.
“However, that gives us the fire to make sure nothing like that ever happens again.
“We are going there knowing Celtic aren’t invincible. They have been on a very good run and are a good team.
“It is up to us to find ways to exploit them. We need to stay smart, keep to our shape and try to stop any early goals and hopefully get the crowd on our side, away from home.”

It is interesting to hear Harkes speaking about the need for United to avoid shipping an early goal tomorrow.
Celtic scored after 15 minutes in the Tannadice rout, one of nine league games so far this season when we’ve netted the opener inside a quarter of an hour.
Kyogo has so often been the scorer, with six of his eight league goals being the first of the match.
If we net early tomorrow at Tannadice, then the memories of that 9-0 loss are sure to come flooding back to the United players.
With Celtic Park buoyant, it could well be a long afternoon for the oppostion.
In other news, there was a welcome sight at today’s AGM
