Euro sporting director talks up more fruitful Celtic deals after ‘constant communication’

Celtic’s need to get active in the transfer continues as the new Scottish Premiership season kick-off approaches.

Brendan Rodgers has just added Kasper Schmeichel and Viljami Sinisalo to his squad to replace the retired Joe Hart but there is still much more work needing done to add more strength to the squad.

But as well as adding new faces, the Celtic boss has also ensured that the squad is trimmed by offloading players he knows won’t feature under him.

Sead Haksabanovic and Hyeongyu Oh are two first-team players who were first to go and Rocco Vata was allowed to leave after failing to sign a new deal earlier this month.

But it seems that those may not be the only ones who could see a Parkhead exit, albeit a temporary one this summer.

‘Something will happen soon’ with Celtic

Celtic currently enjoy a partnership with Austrian Bundesliga 2 side, Admira Wacker, where the club can send youngsters to them for opportunities to play first-team football.

The linkup benefitted both clubs last season as Matthew Anderson and Tobi Oluwayemi enjoyed a season out on loan.

And that is something that their Sporting Director, Peter Stoger, is hoping to continue into next season.

Stoger said [Football Scotland], “We are in constant communication with Celtic and I do believe that something will happen soon.

“We are very hopeful to get players from them again.

“Matthew Anderson, in particular, did well last season and he has left a hole in the left-hand side of the team that we need to fill again.”

Young Anderson featured heavily for Admira Wacker last season making 22 appearances and creating six whilst scoring one.

Oluwayemi found it a little tougher as injury problems restricted the young ‘keeper to just nine appearances where he kept five clean sheets in a run of games that helped Admira win five, draw two and lose just two of the young Celt’s final games for the club.

Hopefully, Stoger is right and Celtic will send a few youngsters on loan to his club to continue their development as the club does have some talented youngsters who could benefit from this linkup.
