Peter Grant has spoken highly about Odin Thiago Holm and how Celtic seem to have another gem within their ranks with the midfielder.
The 20-year-old joined Celtic this summer and has featured sporadically under Brendan Rodgers, starting only one game against Kilmarnock during the League Cup defeat.
But whenever Odin Thiago Holm has been handed minutes, no matter how little, Peter Grant has stated that he ‘always impresses’, as he told Go Radio.
Now, Odin Thiago Holm’s problem is that the midfield is one of Celtic’s strongest suits, even when someone like Reo Hatate is injured.
Someone like David Turnbull, a backup option for Brendan Rodgers, has scored in back-to-back games recently, so young Odin Thiago Holm still has a long way to go – Chris Sutton is backing Turnbull to start in the Champions League.
Either way, the quality from within is there and that was touched upon by Peter Grant, as well as the difficulty these players find earning those minutes.
Celtic’s Odin Thiago Holm
“I am looking at Holm the other night (against St Mirren), I have always been impressed every time I have seen him,” said Grant. “He has fantastic feet and he made a fantastic pass for Oh for the goal.
“There is always a challenge in there and it’s possibly the most difficult part of Celtic’s team to get into. Oh, Holm, you name them. All they can do is when they are given an opportunity, they have to make sure they take it.
“They can take a leaf out of Matt O’Riley’s book. Everyone was criticising Matt and saying ‘he wasn’t playing as well as the previous or whatever’. He has been outstanding this season.”

Brendan Rodgers rotating
Holm played around half an hour during the 3-0 win over Ross County on Saturday – the most minutes he has earned in the Premiership.
This is Rodgers rotating his squad and giving those fringe players a chance because they are going to be needed now more than ever.
Those previously dropped points at Hibs proved how the midweek Champions League game affected the players’ performance.
But now, with a trip to Madrid against Diego Simeone’s Atletico coming up on Tuesday night, the players are refreshed and ready to throw everything at a very crucial game.
