Celtic’s next big fixture is against Kairat Almaty in the Champions League play-off tonight.
A win will give Celtic a massive chance to reach the lucrative league phase of UEFA’s elite competition and access to a minimum of £40m.
The win will also give Celtic great confidence heading into their next fixture which is against Livingston at the weekend.
And whilst David Martindale plans for a Celtic Park win, here the Livingston boss shares whether or not he will be supporting the Hoops against Kairat tonight.

David Martindale wants Celtic to beat Kairat Almaty
Celtic face Livingston on Saturday and whilst Martindale wants to try and get one up on the Hoops at Parkhead, here he explains why he wants to see a Bhoys win in the Champions League.
Martindale told PLZ Soccer, “I want Celtic to win for the coefficient of Scottish football.
“I want Celtic to win tonight, but as soon as that whistle goes, I’ll be doing everything I can in my power at the end of the game tonight to make sure we’re trying to go to Parkhead to try and cause a wee bit of an upset.
“But we’re under no illusions of how difficult that’s going to be.”
Celtic’s last three results vs Livingston
Celtic have a very good record against Livingston in recent times.
In 40 games in total, Celtic have beaten the West Lothian club 31 times, drawn seven and lost just two.
Here are the last three results when Celtic played Livingston:
- March 31, 2024: Livingston 0 v 3 Celtic
- March 10, 2024: Celtic 4 v 2 Livingston (Scottish Cup quarter-final)
- December 23, 2023: Celtic 2 v 0 Livingston
In the last 10 fixtures between the clubs, Celtic have won 8, drawn one and lost just one scoring 23 goals and conceding just five.
It will be an uphill task for Martindale’s side to beat Celtic, especially if the Bhoys get a confidence-boosting Champions League victory tonight.
