Celtic’s managers tend to find their way to England.
Current interim boss Martin O’Neill has managed a host of Premier League clubs, whilst Brendan Rodgers and Ange Postecoglou both departed for the English top-flight.
The current financial might of the EPL makes it a difficult league to turn down for anyone elsewhere in football, and the gap from Scottish football in particular is sadly seismic.
Both Rodgers and Postecoglou proved the value of their Celtic spells in England by delivering silverware at Leicester and Tottenham respectively.
And having lost their jobs last month, they are now both reportedly in the running for a return to English football.
Ex-Celtic managers Ange Postecoglou and Brendan Rodgers in Premier League running
West Ham, Wolves and, of course, Nottingham Forest have already made managerial changes so far this campaign.
But Leeds United could soon follow suit, with Daniel Farke seemingly under pressure.

And according to Alex Crook on TalkSPORT, the Elland Road club are admirers of both, as they prepare for a potential change in the dugout.
The link makes sense – Leeds have a big budget, Rodgers and Postecoglou have both delivered silverware at multiple big clubs.
Whether they are prepared to walk in and work with a squad with unproven credentials to stay in the Premier League is unclear.
Leeds’ owners are, of course, 49ers enterprises, who also own Rangers. Simon Jordan found this amusing when responding to Crook.
He said: “I’m smiling at the thought of the owners of Rangers employing Brendan Rodgers at the owner of their other club.
“I’m just saying, as a former Celtic manager… they own Rangers. The optics of that probably play into the narrative.
“I don’t know about this idea that Daniel Farke hasn’t been supported. They spent £100 million on transfers. Whether they bought the right players is a different matter.
“I’m always fascinated by this idea that people are under pressure because it’s being rumoured.”
Brendan Rodgers at Celtic vs Ange Postecoglou
Rodgers’ and Postecoglou’s first seasons in Glasgow both galvanised the Celtic support which had previously been under a cloud.
Rodgers delivered an unprecedented invincible treble which is unlikely to ever be repeated, while Postecoglou overturned a 25-point deficit from the previous season to reclaim the league title.
Postecoglou delivered a treble the following year before leaving, while Rodgers left in his third season whilst on the way to a treble-treble.
It’s difficult to compare the two given the difference in sample size – and it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting a second spell from Ange anytime soon.
