Celtic are looking for fresh reinforcements in January and Kieran Tierney is the most talked about name to have popped up on their radar.
Movement could soon occur in the left-back position due to Greg Taylor’s uncertain contract situation at Parkhead. The 27-year-old is free to discuss a move elsewhere in the next few days as he enters the final months of his deal.
On the same token, Alex Valle is due back at Barcelona once his loan deal expires at the end of the campaign. Celtic don’t have a buy option inserted for the La Masia graduate and it is unclear whether a permanent agreement could be forthcoming.
After it became clear that Arsenal wouldn’t enact his one-year extension option, Celtic have made their interest in Kieran Tierney known and are said to be exploring both loan and pre-contract options for the Scotland international.
Enjoying a brilliant relationship with supporters of his boyhood club, the 28-year-old won four Scottish Premiership titles, two Scottish Cups and two Scottish League Cups after breaking through from Lennoxtown.
Now, John Hartson has ran the rule over the possibility of Tierney returning to Celtic once the transfer window opens.

Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show, Hartson admitted he isn’t sure whether Celtic would be able to get a deal over the line for Tierney, but believes he would be a ‘fantastic’ addition in January.
He stated: “I’ve not heard an awful lot Paul anyway, I don’t know how many people have been looking at social media. I think there’s an awful lot of work to do to get that one over the line.
“I think Kieran Tierney (has) not played the games that he has, can Celtic get him back and all of a sudden get him playing 40-50 games a year like the used to? I very much doubt it because he’s been injury prone.
“Yes, he’s a fantastic player, he’s one of Celtic’s own, he’d have to drop massively in wages. I suppose a lot of Celtic fans would love to see it, but my answer is, I really don’t know Paul, I really don’t know very much about it.”

Tierney’s potential availability will always cause concerns over his injury-prone nature in recent years, but is it worth overlooking for Celtic as they seek reinforcements?
In short, the answer is probably. The Bhoys have new-found spending power that has enabled them to compete admirably in the Champions League.
However, the club are simply not in a position to turn down a player of Tierney’s quality should he be willing to make the switch to Glasgow.
If Tierney could stay and Taylor were to sign an extension, there could be a fascinating battle for the left-back slot for years to come.
