Celtic are celebrating an important birthday: today marks 134 years of unbroken, glorious history, and supporters on Twitter are celebrating.
Celtic birthday tweets have been a bit of an issue with the fans. For example, the blameless Stevie Woods had to close his Twitter account after the club tweeted about his birthday. The club were called Mhoonpig FC on Darren OโDeaโs big day.
This one, though, just like the anniversary of the Huddle, has gone down a treat. Celtic were formed on this day in 1887, after a positive meeting chaired by John Glass at St Maryโs in Calton [Celtic FC].
Celtic even offered a comprehensive guide to the importance of today [Celtic FC]:
โIt was in the church hall on that day back in 1887 that representatives from the upper echelons of the Irish community in Glasgow, most of whom who had witnessed Hibernian secretary John McFaddenโs speech back in February when Hibernian lifted the Scottish Cup, gathered at St Maryโs Hall.โ
With clubs around Scotland, most notably Hibernian, serving the Irish diaspora, it was vital that Glasgow had a similar team.

After several tempestuous meetings between different groups in the city, Celtic FC were born.
Since then? The club has won 111 major trophies. It remains one of the most iconic and instantly recognisable clubs in the world.
So, no disrespect to any former players, coaches or anyone whoโs been wished a birthday by the club. But this was a tweet that went down far better than any that came before.
Celtic supporters flock to birthday tweet as Bhoys celebrate 134 years of unbroken history
From its humble beginnings as a charity project for poor children in the East End of Glasgow, Celtic grew exponentially.
It would take days to list all of the Celtic great. The unforgettable players, the heart-stopping moments, the triumphs, the stories and the songs. From a church hall in Calton, came one of the most famous clubs in the world.
Supporters have had their say on Twitter:
