Celtic have had some beautiful kits, but also some that have divided opinion but have gone on to become a small fortune.

The Hoops will reportedly pay tribute to the Lisbon Lions with a third kit for the 2026/27 season, 60 years on from the year they beat Inter Milan.

Some kits have become more iconic than others over the years now and if you wanted to get your hands on one, it would cost you a pretty penny. With that, 67 Hail Hail have picked out five forgotten kits that are now worth a lot.

5) The Celtic rebirth – 1994/95

As Fergus McCann saved Celtic with minutes to spare, the Hoops entered a new era and wanted to make a statement with the shirt they wore.

They certainly did that with the away kit from that season as the Bhoys had a yellow and green number in which one sleeve is yellow and the other is green.

There were also yellow and green stripes across the shirt too and it definitely caught the eye for sure. It’s not the most expensive on the list, but it will set you back over £100.

4) 125th anniversary shirt – 2012/13

Supporters will remember this shirt as the one they famously wore in the 2-1 Champions League victory against Barcelona.

Think Tony Watt running through on goal before tucking it home to send Parkhead into a frenzy. You can’t beat it.

This shirt was released without a sponsor as part of a limited edition run, which naturally makes it more desirable for people to buy, but also because of the memories it brings.

Aside from Charlie Mulgrew, who is the first Celtic player you think of when you see this kit?

3) The ‘Bumblebee’ shirt – 1996/97

Donned with the iconic CR Smith sponsorship, you couldn’t miss this kit from a million miles away.

It’s bright yellow colour meant it drew comparisons to the character Bumblebee from Transformers but has gone on to become a classic.

Designed by Umbro, it’s oversized collar and material used made it stand out from others. It was so popular that rival brands like Nike and Adidas have tried to create something similar.

Market value: £150 plus

2) The centenary shirt – 1987-89

When a club celebrates 100 years of existence, they’ve got to do something that will be remembered by everyone.

In this case, Celtic went for the classic green and white hoops, but also added a commemorative crest which featured the Celtic cross.

The Bhoys ended up winning the double that year and because of its popularity, finding an original one in perfect condition is pretty difficult. No wonder it’s one of the most expensive to find.

1) The ‘cracked egg’ shirt – 1991/92

Coming in as the most expensive retro Celtic kit on the market is the iconic ‘cracked egg’ number from the 1991/92 season,

It’s design is exactly what it says on the tin in that it looks like a cracked egg.

The jagged pattern of white and lime green initially went down like a lead balloon with supporters, who said it was one of the worst kits the Bhoys had ever had.

However, that worked to kit collectors’ advantage as people wanted to get their hands on something so whacky for their collection.

Additionally, as it was only worn for a single season in a difficult period for the club, it made it even harder to source.
