With just over 24 hours to go in the transfer window, Celtic fans are watching and waiting to see any signs of life within the club.
Celtic’s January transfer activity has been slow to say the least as the Parkhead club have made just two additions to the squad since the window opened on the first day of the month.
Now into February, just two players have been added to the Celtic squad as Martin O’Neill continues to look for fresh blood to bring to the club.
Celtic want SC Freiburg striker Junior Adamu on loan.
Is he good enough to lead Martin O'Neill's title charge?
And it appears that O’Neill is looking to add another striker as Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenberg shares how Celtic want Austrian international striker Junior Adamu.

Celtic ‘exploring a loan deal’ for Freiburg striker Junior Adamu
Junior Adamu is currently playing for SC Freiburg in the German Bundesliga as Celtic keep a close eye on the Austrian international striker.
According to Plettenberg, Celtic are competing with two other clubs to seal a loan deal for the 24-year-old forward.
Plettenberg said on X, “EXCL: Celtic are exploring a loan deal for Junior Adamu. 24-year-old versatile striker from SC Freiburg is one to watch until Deadline Day.
“Three teams are pushing for Adamu. Celtic FC, very concrete.”
Junior Adamu’s goal record will worry Celtic fans
Adamu is an Austrian international striker and has nine caps for his country. The 24-year-old is yet to break his goalscoring duck.
In 67 games for Freiburg, Adamu has scored just seven goals and created just four assists in the top flight of German football.
Adamu last scored for Freiburg in a 1-1 Europa League draw against Bologna back in October 2025 after equalising from the penalty spot.
The youngster has never been a prolific striker and in three seasons at RB Salzburg, Adamu scored just 23 goals in 83 appearances.
Is Adamu the man who can get the goals to rescue Celtic’s title defence?
