Not everyone is fortunate enough to make it at Celtic.

Callum McGregor is the perfect example of someone who has come through the academy and gone on to play a crucial role in the first team.

Then there are names like Ben Doak and Rocco Vata who decided to move on at an early age and try their luck elsewhere.

Another one of those who left at a young age to head to the Premier League is now on the move again and has decided to head to Bulgaria of all places.

Armstrong Oko-Flex joins Botev Plovdiv

Armstrong Oko-Flex was a promising player at the Celtic academy but decided to try his luck down south by joining West Ham United.

The forward wasn’t able to force his way into their first team and left the London Stadium to sign for FC Zurich in Switzerland.

Now, Oko-Flex is on the move once again and has officially completed his move to Bulgarian top flight side Botev Plovdiv.

The 23-year-old will wear the number 23 shirt for Bulgaria’s oldest club and is their 14th signing of the summer.

Armstrong Oko-Flex’s stats since leaving Celtic

It’s been a difficult period for the Republic of Ireland international after failing to really establish himself anywhere since leaving Celtic.

Even a loan spell at Swansea City before joining Zurich saw him play a bit-part role and there is hope he can finally get off the mark.

Oko-Flex’s best goal scoring season saw him register three goals, a poor total for someone who has always been expected to chip in.

A fresh start in a new league may be exactly what he needs.
