Jack Hendry may be offered the chance to stay in Saudi Arabia after all this summer.

Hendry is reportedly set to leave Al Ettifaq due to their financial troubles and is likely to be a man in demand.

Having rebuilt his career in the Middle East after struggling to break through at Celtic, the centre-back could be staying there after all.

Jack Hendry could be playing with Karim Benzema and Darwin Nunez

According to The Celtic Way, Hendry has been offered a lucrative deal to play for Saudi Pro League giants.

Currently managed by former Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi, the squad features some star-studded names including Karim Benzema, Theo Hernandez and Darwin Nunez.

The 30-year-old is likely to be selected for Scotland’s World Cup squad and, having found his level, would probably be keen to stay in a league where he has impressed.

Jack Hendry on Celtic failure

Although he never managed to become a regular at Celtic, Hendry always believed that he could have played a bigger part in the side.

Often overlooked in favour of other options, the 30-year-old only made one appearance under Brendan Rodgers before being cast aside by Neil Lennon, who sent him out on loan.

Annoyed at the time, Hendry told BBC Scotland in 2021: “It’s frustrating that I was never given the opportunity to show what I could do (under Lennon).

“The way I’m performing, I could have a real good impact and it’s not been nice seeing the way the season has panned out for them.”
