Former Celtic star Charlie Mulgrew has no doubt wound up some Rangers supporters tonight after his cheeky response to questioning about the Ibrox side’s penalty claims at Tannadice today.
Rangers were furious not to have been given a penalty in the first half when the ball hit Ross Graham’s hand. While the United goalscorer also hauled down Fashion Sakala in front of goal after the interval.
Asked about the incident on BBC Sportscene after the game, Mulgrew with a knowing look in his eye said: “What ones?”
When the interviewer explained the potential handball, Mulgrew responded: “Pfft, never a pen. It’s come to him quickly and his hands are by his sides. Nah, what other one is there?”
Laughing, he then responded to the Sakala incident with: “You’ve made that up! Nah, no chance.”
It’s a very funny bit of video that is now being shared far and wide on social media if you have a search.
Mulgrew knows exactly what he is doing and it’s the perfect response to yet more whining from the Rangers camp.
From ball boys to VAR and letters to the Scottish FA, they’ve done some amount of complaining this term when things haven’t gone their way.
They’ve looked for all sorts of excuses to explain their points collapse from last season and falling behind in the title race.
That suits us of course. The longer they fail to take responsibility for their away from, the better it is for Celtic.
Rangers struggling at Tannadice, penalties or no penalties, has led to the Bhoys stretching the Premiership points lead and that’s all that matters.
