Former Celtic player admits that Parkhead dressing room was one of the best he had experienced

Celtic’s success has largely been built on the strength of the dressing room over the years.

Big characters like Kieran Tierney and Callum McGregor are pioneers of the dressing room this season and in the past, similar faces such as Scott Brown have helped the Bhoys become a dominant force.

It says a lot that even players who would’ve been considered as backup options are still highly complimentary of the atmosphere inside the Celtic Park dressing room – as one former goalkeeper did.

Benjamin Siegrist speaks highly of Celtic dressing room

Benjamin Siegrist was never given much of a run in the Celtic side as he largely acted as the backup for Joe Hart.

Siegrist turned down Rangers before joining Celtic and a large deal of that was thanks to the work of Ange Postecoglou.

Although he didn’t feature much, the Swiss goalkeeper, who is currently at Genoa, told the Bondi podcast that he loved the feeling in the Celtic dressing room.

He said: “In my two years at Celtic, there was not one player who was a bad egg.”

His comments came while he was discussing the departure of James McCarthy in which he revealed that despite his injury setbacks, McCarthy was “bright as a button and always up for fun”.

Benjamin Siegrist extends stay in Italy

After joining Rapid Bucharest for the 2024/25 season, Siegrist would finish the campaign on loan in Italy.

Siegrist made two appearances for Genoa, which was enough for the club to decide to extend his stay in the Serie A.

He reacted to the confirmation on Instagram, saying: “Super excited to extend my stay at Genoa for the upcoming season.

“I want to help the club achieve its new goals and move the project forward. I feel at home.”
