A former Celtic transfer target looks set to miss out on a move to another Scottish Premiership club.
The Hoops have had many targets in mind over the years, but not all of them have come to fruition.
Celtic have made two signings in the transfer window so far and have ambitions to make more this summer.
Other clubs in Scotland are also trying to recruit new additions and Dundee United did have one former player once on Celtic’s radar in mind but they’ve hit a stumbling block.
Former Celtic target Said Hamulic hits obstacle in Dundee United move
Said Hamulic is a forward who was once wanted by several clubs in Europe. The Bosnia and Herzegovina international first caught the eye while at Polish top flight outfit Stal Mielec after scoring nine times in 19 games before joining Toulouse in France.
Hamulic hasn’t hit the heights he was predicted to do so since then, however, and now is on the radar of Jim Goodwin’s side.
But according to the Daily Record, Dundee United have been dealt a blow in talks as the 24-year-old requires a work permit and visa to join the Arabs.
Talks are still ongoing to find a solution to the proposed loan deal, but it all feels very familiar to Celtic’s failed attempt to sign him in 2023.
Said Hamulic claimed to be a Celtic player before a deal had been completed
Celtic were one of the clubs fighting with Toulouse for Hamulic’s signature in 2023 and at one point, it looked like they had won the race.
However, before a deal had even been completed, the forward posted a highlights reel which read: ‘Said Hamulic, welcome to Celtic’ was posted to his Instagram account before being deleted.
Now, two years on, he may finally get his chance to play in Scotland.
