Celtic’s defeat to Rangers in the Glasgow Derby was the Parkhead club’s first in the last seven games against their big rivals.
Brendan Rodgers’ record against Rangers still makes great reading after the Celtic boss succumbed to his second defeat in 20 games against Philippe Clement’s side.
Since the defeat, Celtic beat St Mirren 3-0 at Parkhead as Rangers drew 3-3 with Hibernian to almost instantly end the feelgood factor surrounding the derby result for the Ibrox support.
And it seems that things for the rest of the SPFL are going to get worse when they come up against Celtic after the defeat to Rangers claims former Ibrox midfielder, Ian Murray.
Celtic are ‘going to blow teams away again’ after Rangers defeat
It was suggested to Murray that the 14-point gap at the top of the table was the main reason Celtic were off it at Ibrox but the ex-Rangers midfielder refuted that but did send a warning to the rest of the SPFL as he gave his old club credit for the win.
Murray told Off the Ball [14m], “I don’t think so. I think we have to give credit to Rangers firstly. But again, I think when these results happen to these sort of guys, the [Celtic] players and the manager, they come back stronger.

“I expect Celtic just to come back and they’re going to blow teams away again. I don’t think it’s going to change too much going into the second half of the season.”
Normal service resumed as Celtic already banish Glasgow Derby blues
It didn’t take long for Celtic to banish the memory of the Ibrox Glasgow Derby defeat with a win over St Mirren.
Forget about the apparent controversy over Brendan Rodgers’ comments about the Celtic fans, the reaction of the team was spot on as they scored yet another three goals and kept their 16th clean sheet of the Scottish Premiership season.
Celtic face Dundee United tonight and then Ross County on Saturday as Rodgers looks to continue to keep his stranglehold on Scottish football and, if Murray’s prediction comes true, blow away the rest of the competition defending the title.
