Four days after the Glasgow Derby and the reaction to Celtic easily beating Rangers continues this morning.

Celtic’s 3-0 victory now puts Brendan Rodgers five points ahead of the Ibrox club at the top of the Scottish Premiership table and with the international break just beginning, there are still just under ten days to go before the two teams’ next SPFL fixture.

However, as Celtic enjoy the plaudits, Gabby Agbonlahor is the next former player-now-pundit who has turned into a fan of the club after what he experienced after attending the Celtic Park derby.

Agbonlahor loved the Celtic Park atmosphere

The former Villa striker has not been shy about telling of his love of Celtic and after taking in the 3-0 win over Rangers, Agbolnlahor shares what he loved about the day.

Agbonlahor told talkSPORT, “Honestly I loved it. I went with my girlfriend and everybody was so friendly. It makes a change.

“Everyone is friendly up there and having some good talks about football.

“I stayed where the Scotland players stay so when I was leaving I spoke to John McGinn and Aston Villa’s set piece coach, having a bit of banter.

“I loved it, I met a lot of Celtic and Rangers fans and had some banter with them as well. I really enjoyed it.”

Agbonlahor surprised at how easily Celtic beat Rangers

But as well as enjoying the Celtic Park hospitality, Agbonlahor also admits that he was surprised at how easily Celtic overpowered their Glasgow rivals.

The former Aston Villa striker continued, “I’ve watched a lot of Old Firm games and when you watch them you, you are like ‘oh it could have went either way, it is close or there were tackles going in’.

“I am not one to go into someone, but I played in a lot of derby games and if I am a Rangers fan I am probably looking at it like ‘they may be better than you, but put a tackle in. At least kick someone.’

“It was that one-sided and the feeling in the stadium from the Celtic fans was like ‘why haven’t we scored yet?’ after 10 minutes.

“The goal gets disallowed and it was ‘don’t worry we will score again soon’. It had that feeling that ‘we are going to beat these comfortably’. That must be hard to take for any Rangers fans.”

The feelgood factor surrounding this Glasgow Derby win looks set to continue until Celtic face Hearts on the 14th of September.

The pressure will be on Rangers on that day as they face Dundee United at Tannadice in the lunchtime kick-off. Should Clement drop any more points and Celtic then beat Hearts it makes the Rangers manager’s chances of catching Rodgers virtually impossible.
