Gary Lineker has shared who he wants to win the title after Celtic’s superb win at Kilmarnock and Rangers beat Hearts.
Celtic’s win at Kilmarnock has captured the imagination of the country after Martin O’Neill’s side battled back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 in injury time at Rugby Park.
Back in Glasgow, Rangers beat Hearts at Ibrox to close the gap to Hearts to two points which then allowed Celtic to narrow their points disadvantage to three.
Why have Celtic been able to score so many late goals this season?
And after watching a dramatic weekend unfold in Scottish football, Lineker has shared that he wants Hearts to win the league despite Celtic’s brilliant comeback at Kilmarnock.

Gary Lineker hails ‘proper title race’ between Celtic, Hearts and Rangers
The former England striker does dip in and out of Scottish football and it seems the results Celtic and Rangers pulled off have caught Lineker’s attention.
Lineker told The Rest is Football, “So, I switched over and watched the second half of Rangers-Hearts, which was obviously a huge game in the Premiership in Scotland.
“And Hearts led twice, but Rangers cut them down, and they ended up winning. So, the table is now very tight because Celtic got a last-minute winner.
“They came from two down earlier in the day. Here’s me watching Scottish football, folks. And Hearts now lead by just two points from Rangers, and Celtic are a point further back in third, you’ve got a proper title race in Scotland.”
Gary Lineker wants Hearts title win despite brilliant Celtic comeback
And even though Celtic are masters of the late, late show this season, it’s Hearts Lineker wants to see crowned champions.
Micah Richards replied, “Ooh, they’ve got a game in hand, though, haven’t they? Celtic, if they win their game in hand.
“I mean, then it becomes even more interesting. So, if they win their game in hand, they go level, right?
“Level, goal difference. Hearts have got a plus-four goal difference at the moment.
Lineker: “I don’t support anyone in Scotland, I just think it would be quite good for Scottish football if someone outside of the Rangers or Celtic won it, because it was Ferguson’s Aberdeen last time, which was in the mid-80s.
“I mean, that’s 40 years ago when I was playing Micah. I was playing in those days. It would be incredible achievement if they managed to do it.”
Hearts look like they are struggling to maintain their form this season as Celtic and Rangers’ performances and results start to look relentless.
Celtic’s next fixtures have Hibs at home and then Rangers and Aberdeen away as the Bhoys look to keep the defence of their title going.
Taking nine points from those three games will likely take Celtic to the top of the league, and once they get there, it would be hard to see Martin O’Neill allowing his team to give that up.
