Nicolas Kuhn has been in superb form for Celtic this season as he helps to maintain the Parkhead club’s unbeaten start to the domestic season.

In 15 appearances for Celtic this season, Nicolas Kuhn has racked up an impressive seven goals and 10 assists as the German lights up not just Scotland, but also the Champions League this season.

Kuhn’s performance in Celtic’s win over Aberdeen on Saturday was capped off with a wonderful goal and now, it seems the Celtic winger’s dream of making the German national team could be about to become a reality.

Celtic’s Nicolas Kuhn’s German call-up ‘will’ happen

Kuhn’s sparkling Celtic form is clearly making waves back in his homeland as German football expert, Ben Post, shares what he’s been told about the Hoops hero’s chances of making Julien Nagglesman’s squad.

Post told Go Ballistic, “It’s very exciting because they have Nicolas Kuhn and Arne Engles and they will be looking for those players.

“Because Nicolas had his time in the [Leipzig] U17 but he also trained in the youth squad and won the Emirates Cup at a match in London in 2017.

“But he didn’t go out to the squad and then he goes to Bayern in the second league and then to Rapid Vienna and then he will push up.

“And then now I heard he will go to the national team but it’s difficult in Germany but it’s his goal to do that and I think it can be possible.”

The competition Nicolas Kuhn must overcome if Celtic winger wants Germany cap

Kuhn has a lot of quality ahead of him to make the Germany squad never mind get a starting place but should the Celtic winger get the call, who will he be competing with for a place?

Bayern Munich’s Serge Gnabty will take some shifting from the German side. With 22 goals from 47 appearances, Gnabry is clearly the first pick in any national squad.

Then there is Vfb Stuttgart’s Christian Fuhrich. The 26-year-old has seven caps and is playing well in the Bundesliga this season.

Brentford’s Kevin Schade has just broken into the national team after his impressive performances in the Premier League.

However, the recent injury to Jamie Leweling could open up the door for Kuhn after the Stuttgart right-winger suffered a hamstring injury this season.
