Celtic striker Giorgos Giakoumakious has outlined his hopes for a successful start under new Greek national team boss Gus Poyet.
The former Brighton and Sunderland manager was recently appointed the new head coach of the Greece national team back in February.
So far, Poyet has only been in charge for a couple of friendly fixtures and was also the man to recall Giakoumakis to the side after his strong start to 2022.

Tomorrow evening, Greece kick off their UEFA Nations League campaign against Northern Ireland as Poyet prepares for his first competitive game in the dugout.
During this international break, they also take on Cyprus and Kosovo as they look to secure a playoff spot for the Euros in 2024 by topping the group ahead of their three opponents.
Giakoumakis, who is expected to have a starring role under the new manager, has outlined his hope for ‘beautiful things’ with the Greek national team over the next few years, starting with the first four Nations League fixtures.
Speaking to Greek media out, National Herald, he said: “We are quite optimistic with the arrival of the new coach and the existing material. We believe in our capabilities.
“We think we can do beautiful things in the near future starting with the Nations League. To take psychology, to acquire metal and to go even more ready in the Euros.”

Giakoumakis looking to carry over end of season momentum.
The Celtic striker finished the season in fine form as the leagues joint top goalscorer, and Giakoumakis will now be looking to carry that form over to the national team.
Greece last qualified for a major international tournament in 2014, so the 27-year old will also be hoping to fire his nation to their first tournament in over eight years.
A good performance in the Nations League allows them to take a step closer to that, with at the very least a play-off spot for the tournament in 2024.
With pre-season not far around the corner at the beginning of July, it would be brilliant to see Giakoumakis continue his momentum from the end of the season, and carry that over to his form on the international stage.
